CSR by Meru Vann
Our Impact Story
The story of Meru Vann doesn’t end when a guest departs the jungle—it continues in every tree planted, every student empowered, and every wild creature that finds refuge in restored habitats. Beyond the luxury of a safari lies our deeper purpose: to make travel a force for good, giving back to the land that inspires and sustains us.
At Meru Vann, we believe that true luxury is defined not only by comfort but by conscience. Every experience we curate and every initiative we undertake is rooted in our ethos of giving back—to the forests that nurture wildlife and to the communities that protect them. Through forward-thinking CSR and sustainability efforts, we’ve woven conservation, education, and community empowerment into the essence of our identity, ensuring that our legacy of elegance is matched by a lasting legacy of impact.
From Dust to Roar: The Revival of the Wild
Over the past two years, Nature Safari India has transformed barren land near Kanha into a flourishing ecosystem by planting over 30,000 trees, achieving an impressive 80% survival rate. What once stood desolate is now evolving into an emerging forest reserve, breathing new life into the landscape. This rewilding initiative is nurturing a rich habitat for diverse wildlife, restoring ecological harmony, and allowing nature to reclaim its rightful space. Today, the area thrives with Tigers, Leopards, Sloth Bears, Wild Dogs, Smooth-coated Otters, Indian Gaurs, Sambar Deer, Barking Deer, Spotted Deer, and more than 110 species of birds—a living testament to the power of conservation and restoration.
When the Barren Turned Green: The Story of Kanha River Camp
Meru Vann has transformed 12 acres of once-barren land near Kanha National Park into a vibrant grassland ecosystem through sustained plantation and restoration efforts. What was once desolate now thrives with life—offering nesting grounds for grassland birds, refuge for reptiles, and grazing pastures for deer and antelope. This rejuvenated habitat has also begun attracting apex predators like tigers, restoring nature’s delicate balance and nurturing a flourishing biodiversity hotspot that strengthens the ecological fabric of Kanha.
Empowering Futures at Kanha Bhoor Singh School
Meru Vann actively supports Kanha Bhoor Singh School, which provides education to children of forest guards, guides, drivers, and local village communities in the Kanha region. Through this initiative, we provide essential resources such as books, uniforms, and learning materials, empowering underprivileged students with access to quality education. Since 2014, our collaboration has fostered skill development and environmental awareness, nurturing a brighter future for the children while reinforcing community connections to wildlife conservation and the preservation of Kanha’s natural heritage.

Supporting Those Who Serve Communities
Meru Vann proudly supports leading non-profit organisations working in and around Kanha, helping drive conservation, community development, and sustainable practices.
Earth Focus
Earth Focus Kanha is built on the belief that empowering indigenous and tribal communities is essential for conserving Kanha’s forests and fostering a nature-based economy. Their holistic model focuses on education and livelihoods, particularly through landscape restoration in the park’s buffer zones. By combining indigenous knowledge with scientific expertise, Earth Focus works with forest-dwelling communities to enhance ecological resilience while supporting socio-economic development.
Earth Brigade Foundation (EBF)
Founded in 2017 by Dr. Sarita Subramaniam (BDS) and Dr. P.V. Subramaniam (MDS), both experienced dental surgeons from Mumbai, EBF emerged from a passion for wildlife conservation. Over two decades, they have worked across India, understanding the challenges faced by wildlife, forest communities, underprivileged women, and stray animals, and developing impactful programs to address these needs.
Waste Warriors
Founded in 2013 by Minakshi Pandey in Corbett, Waste Warriors began with cleanup initiatives and has since expanded to systematic waste management solutions in Dharamshala, Dehradun, and Corbett’s outskirts. Guided by early volunteer Avinash Pratap Singh, who became CEO in 2018, the organization strengthened waste management models and navigated challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic, leaving a lasting impact on local communities and ecosystems.
Through partnerships with these organisations, Meru Vann contributes to meaningful conservation, sustainable development, and community empowerment, ensuring that tourism becomes a force for positive change.
